ULPA Statement

The following statement has been submitted in writing by Chelsea Matisz of the ULPA and an audio copy has been recorded by a staff member at CKXU for your listening convenience:

On behalf of the postdocs at the University of Lethbridge, ULPA stands in solidarity with ULFA, who have been without a contract for a year, and have faced increasingly challenging workloads. This negatively impacts the quality of the postdoctoral experience at the University of Lethbridge, as well as graduate students and undergraduates. We believe that the Faculty demands are important to ensuring the health of the University of Lethbridge as a learning-focused institution. ULFA requests for reasonable salary increases in line with comparable institutions will ensure we retain and acquire high-quality faculty, and by extension ensure high-quality education for students. ULFA also reasonably demands that Faculty can participate in decision-making processes alongside university administration, to ensure the focus remains on a quality post-secondary experience for undergraduates, graduate students, and postdoctoral scholars.
