Job Posting: Community Content Creator (P/T 1-year contract)

Community Content Creator 

Accountable to the Executive Director the Community Content Creator will support the community programming initiative outlined in the CRFC Radiometers grant – this program will have a strong focus on creating connections with local businesses, musicians, and non-profit organizations throughout the Southern Alberta region and turning that content into a weekly 3hr radio program. 

Specific areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to:   

  • Planning and facilitation of a weekly 3hr radio programming with a focus on local and underrepresented bands, CKXU volunteers, and community opportunities and events;

  • Liaising with Southern Alberta bands to schedule studio sessions and live interviews (preference will be given to bands who identify as underrepresented);

  • Assist with coordination and booking for annual Indigenous, Femme, POC, and LGBTQ2S+ showcase music events;

  • Communicating with participating bands relating to their studio sessions and interviews, mixed tracks, and showcase music event bookings;

  • Coordinating and communicating regularly with the Live-To-Air Sound Engineer to schedule studio sessions and live interviews;

  • Ongoing project-related marketing efforts (social media, print, on-air).

Qualifications:

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong working knowledge of radio broadcast equipment

  • Demonstrated ability to work with staff teams and volunteers 

  • Experience coordinating and planning a live-to-air radio program

  • Experience and knowledge in the areas of community outreach and networking

  • Demonstrates an eclectic and unbiased knowledge of music

  • Video editing skills considered an asset

Compensation: $16.50/hr for 25hrs/wk
Contract timeframe: 1 year contract (October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021)
