“Universal Language” was started in October 2016 by Dai & Butters originally as a music variety show. Basically anything went and the weirder the better! In 2017 the show morphed into a “World” music show, with the idea that music is an universal language Dai & Butters wanted to share music from outside of Canada that they were finding. That slowly moved the show to what it is today! Both Dai & Butters found themselves being drawn to music by Indigenous artists and wanted to share all the amazing artists they found in Turtle Island and around the world.

Universal Language: Unleashed started in 2018 with hosts Dai & Scratchlock because Dai was finding that there were so many more Indigenous artists out there doing great things that he couldn’t share on daytime radio.
