The Old Time Radio Show plays radio programs from the “Golden Age of Radio”, which ran from the mid 1930’s to the early 1960’s. The “Golden Age of Radio” was a less hurried time, a time when families would gather around the radio and listen to the shows. The families’ radio was their main source of entertainment and news. There were comedies, dramas, suspense, detective-crime dramas, musicals, westerns, science fiction and variety shows. Also you will hear commercials from years gone by as well. Some examples of the shows that are aired are: Gunsmoke, Lux Radio Theater, Our Miss Brooks, Dragnet, The Six Shooter, The Aldrich Family, Sam Spade, Doctor Kildare, Richard Diamond-Private Detective, Amos & Andy, Abbott & Costello, Burns & Allen, The Whistler, The Jack Benny Show, The Life of Riley, as well as many, many more. The Old Time Radio Show also has a number of holiday specials throughout the year. For example all through December you will hear all Christmas programming including holiday classics such as “It’s a Wonderful Life”, “A Christmas Carol” and “Miracle on 34th Street” as well as many more Christmas shows. There are also specials to celebrate other holidays as well, including Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentines’ Day, Thanksgiving and Halloween.
