The Old Time Radio Show plays radio programs from the “Golden Age of Radio”, which ran from the mid 1930’s to the early 1960’s. The “Golden Age of Radio” was a less hurried time, a time when families would gather around the radio and listen to the shows.  The families’ radio was their main source of entertainment and news.  There were comedies, dramas, suspense, detective-crime dramas, musicals, westerns, science fiction and variety shows.  Also you will hear commercials from years gone by as well.  Some examples of the shows that are aired are: Gunsmoke, Lux Radio Theater, Our Miss Brooks, Dragnet, The Six Shooter, The Aldrich Family, Sam Spade, Doctor Kildare, Richard Diamond-Private Detective, Amos & Andy, Abbott & Costello, Burns & Allen, The Whistler, The Jack Benny Show, The Life of Riley, as well as many, many more. The Old Time Radio Show also has a number of holiday specials throughout the year. For example all through December you will hear all Christmas programming including holiday classics such as “It’s a Wonderful Life”, “A Christmas Carol” and “Miracle on 34^th Street” as well as many more Christmas shows. There are also specials to celebrate other holidays as well, including Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentines’ Day, Thanksgiving and Halloween.
